What is Bitcoin Pizza Day?

In 2010 computer programmer Laszlo Hanyecz was hungry – what happened next would go down in crypto history.

Every year on May 22nd the crypto community celebrates what is known as Bitcoin Pizza Day. It celebrates the first time that cryptocurrency was ever used for a commercial transaction.

12 years ago Laszlo Hanyecz bought 2 large pizzas from Papa Johns and paid 10,000 Bitcoin. An amount currently worth over 500 Million AUD.

Bitcoin Pizza Day is a day where we celebrate the growth that has occurred in the crypto world and pays homage to the pioneers of the industry!
